DL Tool

January 19th, 2009

LIVE NOW!!!

It’s extremely simple to use, all you need is the player’s first and last name and you will get their DL transaction history back to 2001.  It covers Date On, Date Off, # days on DL, Body Part, Injury, Description, Side, Surgery Date if applicable and finally if it is a reaggrevation injury.

That however isn’t where I plan on stopping.  This injury tool is going to help all fantasy baseball fans and general baseball fans alike.  You will also be able to quickly get the number of days and number of times on the DL for the last 3, 5, and all years back to 2001.

In the coming weeks, I will be adding additional formatting to make browsing through the players easier. Finally I will soon provide new information in the tables (including day-to-day injuries, off-season injuries, and eventually minor league injuries).  So I hope you enjoy it, use it as much as you want when doing research/trade ideas, and come back again soon.

One final note, in order to quickly get the information to you, I had to skip over a lot of historical DL transactions for the players who are no longer active.  Once I get all of the above information and formatting issues taken care of I will provide you with those historical transactions.

Thank you and enjoy.

Where is your information gathered from? How complete and accurate do you think it is?

I gathered it from all the local newspapers and reputable web sites like Rotoworld, ESPN, and MLB. I don’t have any information directly from the medical personnel for the teams, but I think it’s as complete and accurate as I can get. I repeat that since I don’t have any ins to any clubhouses I will (nor anyone else without this direct knowledge) never have the picture as detailed as I’d like(such as what exact muscle was hurt). But it’s as accurate as you’re going to find based off the news reports.

Yeah this is what I’ve been looking for for a while and thought about doing myself, glad I don’t have to anymore.

Do you have this information in spreadsheet form? The reason I ask is that I plan doing a statistical project investigating predictors of pitching injuries.

    Thanks
