Carlos Zambrano concerns for 2009

February 15th, 2009

Continuing to look at pitchers who may or may not end up being injured is Carlos Zambrano. Zambrano is an interesting case partly because he may simply be detoriating at an accelerated pace or he could still be dealing with the shoulder problems that bit him last year.

I asked Troy, my friend and lead writer/owner of RotoSavants.com to help out with the statistical analysis of Carlos Zambrano and this is what he came up with.

Carlos Zambrano has been greatly over valued the past few seasons and if anyone is expecting a repeat of 2004 they will be greatly disappointed. Zambrano was extremely lucky in 2004, but has also had declining components since 2005. He has some interesting ratios though and lets take a look at what to expect in 2009.

Excellent Strategy Site

February 10th, 2009

Like I said before, my friend Troy is able to explain strategy much more clearly than I can. He has been invited to produce small videos to help explain his strategies on Videodraftkit.com. It’s based on proven poker training videos so it should really help you during your draft. I recommend it, I enjoyed the videos that I looked at.

Hip Injury Explanation

February 7th, 2009

For the longest time I’ve been promising to write an article over at Rotosavants where some of friends write. Since I have no more excuses, such as wedding plans or work (well I could always use work as an excuse but that’s neither here nor there) I put up a new article about the increase in hip injuries we’ve seen.

Over there, I briefly discuss the anatomy of the hip joint before going into what certain terms mean when you hear them in the news. After that I talk about what everyone really wants to knows and that is how long does it take for them to return to play.

Troy, Lee, and Kevin do an amazing job over there and if I didn’t have my own site (Troy and I both started one around the same time but didn’t want to share it with each other due to being in the same fantasy leagues) I’d write more there. They focus more on strategy than I do and probably for good reason, they’re better at it.

Buy Low Summary so far

June 9th, 2008

Over at Daily Roto Pickups, I’ve written a post showing my work so to speak for all of the buy low candidates thus far. In summary, my hitters are pretty much right on and some of my success stories are Teixeira, Giambi, and Crede. The verdict is still out on the others.

The pitchers haven’t done quite as well but their rate stats are pretty good. Randy Johnson is among the success stories while the others still need to prove themselves.
